M&M Bail Bonds

BAIL BOND FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is a bail bond?

A bail bond is an instrument given to the court to secure one's release from jail.  It is also a guarantee to the court that the defendant who is out on bail will appear for each and every required court appearance.

How much does a bail bond cost and where are they done?

Bail bonds posted for criminal or motor vehicle offenses require a fee of 10%.  These bonds are executed at the local police department, county jail and county bail unit or with the court administrator of the municipal court.

Do I get my money back at the conclusion of the case proceedings?

No. The fee paid for the bail bond is fully earned when the bondsman posts the bail and signs the court recognizance form.  In some cases when a defendant has more than one charge holding him/her in custody it is best to attempt to pay all required bails to ensure their release.
